Shang basically having to save me from quan chi. (Yeah i get kidnapped. Its bound to happen) they fight,its neck n neck. Oof. and quan chi has one split sec dumb moment. Kicked shang into a pool vat of souls(it happened to be in shangs old keep/castle/palace in outworld(shang had his own place i hc in outworld but was rarely home. He mainly stayed on his island or in shao kahns palace when he worked under him). Shang gains his vitality back. Now quan chi is in trouble. But wait…..he don’t finish him?! Nah. He’s gonna leave that to hanzo to deal with.
(This is also i find out his souls dont just “heal him” they also revitalize his youth. Ngl it might freak me out,not really in a bad way just like. “Shang why tf did you not tell me that?!” “Oops i forgot” type things. He’s lucky he’s cute)

Ok look some things in the 95 movie is dated,stinky,and omfg why did they do that?! Buuuuuuuut. BUT! i still feel it holds up and truly captured the essence of mortal kombat. And not many other versions. Can hold up. Not counting any games. Other mk media outside the games. Very few come close. Because it’s that fucking iconic. If it wasn’t for this movie. We wouldn’t have a bop fire of a fucking theme song. No guy screaming viciously “MORTAL KOMBAT!!!” No amazing reappearance of tagawa shang tsung. No mk11. Hell no futher games. It would have faded into obscurity. So the success of this movie. Laid the foundation of future games,and mk media. So pay your fucking respects! *stares intensely at 21 movies jaxs actor for dissing raidens actor in the 95 for no fucking real reason because he wanted 15min of fame,not even talking about how game devs have been racist to his own character jax,guys just dumb to me fr. Sorry i dont like him,his attitude sucks* (srry bout that but tho the 21 movie reboot is bland the actors were ok. Cept jaxs actor. He sucks but mostly cuz his attitude. Ok look he’s no tagawa. But artt butler does a great job as shang here. But sadly the script is sub par,the writing is too fast paced. And honestly its over before it starts. Not to mention,shang doesn’t really get to fight in any of the legends movies. Most fights are super bias and never really shows how fucking dangerous this man is. Which is a shame. Because it would be absolutely amazing to see animated. He’s reduced to lapdog stock villain. Which sucks because thats not what he is. And even when he was just a bad guy to beat up days he hates shao kahns guts,very canon states that. But it just seems here he just is a joke?! Wtaf! But that aside. This version if written better would have been amazing.

That aside. I feel old man shang tsung (shang’s old man form,and his more vulnerable state) is underrated. I also feel that mk11 did his so much justice. (Sadly i doubt any other media will come close,definitely not the games. But the movies that are coming out. We’ll see. Tho i doubt you can ever hold a candle to tagawa’s portrayal ever. You may think you can,but nah. Not for that character)
